How SMS opt-in works

BeReminded sends the reminders you write and schedule. Text reminders are part of BeReminded Plus. SMS consent is optional. You can use email reminders without consenting to texts.

  1. Sign in and create a reminder. Choose text delivery and enter your mobile number.
  2. Check the separate, initially unchecked consent box. Read the disclosure below and the linked Privacy Policy and SMS Terms.
  3. Save your reminder. Your SMS consent is remembered for later reminders to the same number. You do not need to send a text to enroll.
  4. You receive an enrollment confirmation with the program details. After opting out, give fresh consent before texts can resume; any provider opt-out block must also be resolved.

The consent disclosure

Text me my reminders. By checking this box you agree to receive recurring automated reminder texts from BeReminded at the number on your account. Message frequency depends on the reminders you set. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Consent is optional and is not a condition of creating an account, using email reminders, or making a purchase. By opting in, you agree to the SMS Terms. SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.

Consent records include the disclosure version and timestamp. The number format check accepts North American (+1) numbers; it does not certify a US carrier or mobile line type. Checking the box records your consent; it does not independently verify possession of the number.

Example reminder: “BeReminded: change the smoke detector batteries. Reply STOP to cancel.”

Reply STOP to cancel reminder texts or use Stop text reminders in your account. To opt back in, choose text delivery and give fresh consent. Texts remain paused until any provider opt-out block is resolved. A text already authorized for processing may still arrive after STOP; an accepted message cannot be recalled.
